The in person and online series of events will be community led and curated for the COVID era with an emphasis on personal well-being, self reflection and collective healing. We invite you to join us, in the indigenous tradition of remembering our dearly departed; share knowledge, storytelling and participate in the building of our ofrenda. All programs are FREE and open to the community.
This is presented by Avenidas Inc. a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit committed to catalyzing empowerment, inspiration and economic development for the surrounding South Tucson community and beyond. Avenidas Inc. celebrates and connects the residents, artists, makers and businesses of the avenues.

Rollin' Haunt
The City of Tucson Parks and Recreation is hosting a drive-thru Rollin' Haunt event at the Tucson Rodeo Grounds, 4823 S. 6th Avenue (enter at 3rd Avenue and Irvington)—-just down Irvington from the La Doce route!
To avoid traffic congestion, do not line up early. The event will be filled with lots of Halloween treats, fun costumes and characters, and photo opportunities. Families are encouraged to decorate their cars to add to the Halloween spirit. All children present in the vehicles will received a candy bag with contactless pick-up as they exit the event. All participants must remain in their vehicles at all times and be alert for the safety of all staff and other participants.

FUGA Bicicleteada del Sur
Southside Slow Roll through the barrios. Perfect for families and first time riders. FUGA (Familia Unidas Ganando Accesibilidad // Families United Gaining Accessibility) is a diverse group of Southside and Westside community members and stakeholders who are working towards mobility justice.

Fiesta at Mission Manor Park with Free Bike Repair

The Cyclovia Remix La Doce Edition continues with a pop-up block party at Mission Manor Park.

60-mile Training Ride with the Pueblo Road Warriors
Getting ready for a big ride? Working on your cycling stamina? The Pueblo High Bicycle Club is hosting a 60-mile bike ride and fundraiser! Join the Road Warriors as they train for El Tour de Tucson. The group will leave promptly at 8am from Pueblo High School for a beautiful ride on The Loop. Make sure your bike is running smoothly and bring a helmet, water and snacks.
Help Pueblo High Students raise funds for needed equipment and support their goal of riding El Tour de Tucson in November! Suggested donation is $10, but no one will be turned away for lack of funds.

(VIRTUAL) Art Talk | Indigenous Filmmaking with Bobby Wilson
Join Heard Museum Fine Arts Curator Erin Joyce in conversation with filmmaker, actor, and artist, Bobby Wilson (Sisseton-Wahpeton Dakota). Wilson is known as one of the founding members of Indigenous sketch comedy group 'The 1491s' and for current television projects such as 'Rutherford Falls' and 'Reservation Dogs.'
This event is free but registration is required.
(VIRTUAL) Rio Grande Weaving Evolution Presentation
Arizona State Museum is hosting a presentation by, and conversation with, master weavers Lisa and Irvin Trujillo, owners of Centinela Traditional Arts, a tapestry gallery located in Chimayo, New Mexico.
The Trujillos create extraordinary contemporary tapestry pieces in the Rio Grande tradition and by pushing its boundaries. They will share a brief history of Rio Grande weaving from Spanish Colonial times through Mexican and American influence, all the way to what today is proudly known as Chimayo weaving. The Trujillos have won many awards for their work and are owners of Centinela Traditional Arts, a tapestry gallery in Chimayo, New Mexico. Irvin Trujillo was named a National Heritage Fellow in 2007.
This program is held in conjunction with the exhibit, Wrapped in Color: Legacies of the Mexican Sarape, showing through July 2022.

PennElys Droz will explore the movement of Indigenous peoples to re-emerge our values and governance in regenerative nation-building, our work to achieve Land Back, and why this is relevant and impactful for our local, national, and global community. Please join us for this timely presentation, with ample time for questions and discussion.
Dr. PennElys Droz is an Anishinaabekwe mother of five, a Program Officer for the NDN Collective, and an active founding Board member of Sustainable Nations. She has worked for over 20 years in service of the re-development of ecologically, culturally, and economically thriving and resilient Indigenous Nations.
