El Tour de Tucson returns for its 38th year! Nearly 6,000 cyclists participate in this class Tucson event.
The Ride
Traditionally held annually the Saturday before Thanksgiving, the 38th El Tour htakes place on November 20, 2021. El Tour de Tucson is a fundraising ride that features nearly 6,000 cyclists of all ages and abilities from the United States and worldwide. Participants range from novice to professional as they ride either the 100-, 57-, 28-mile rides. There is also a Fun Ride consisting of 10-, 5- and 1-mile rides.
The Participants
El Tour riders share a desire to ride, meet great people, raise contributions for charities and have fun. Participants enjoy the ride and its festivities out of a passion for cycling, as a benchmark for a wellness program, as a symbol of surviving a major illness or other life challenge or to honor another person.
The Non-Profit Partners
First and foremost, El Tour is charity event. In its 37 years, more than $101 million has been raised through El Tour by over 100 different local and national nonprofit organizations. The Route
Main event distances are 100, 57 and 28 miles. The Chapman Automotive Group Fun Ride distances are 10, 5 and 1 miles. Main event routes feature beautiful landscapes of Tucson and Southern Arizona and the crisp, cool air of the Tucson winter. Of course, mountain ranges and the desert’s signature saguaro cactus are highlighted throughout the route. Course profiles range from flat to rolling or moderately hilly. The 28-mile route is mostly flat, which is great for families and ideal for a first-time to beginning. Check out the route details and cue sheets on our website.
