El Tour de Tucson
El Tour de Tucson returns for its 38th year! Nearly 6,000 cyclists participate in this class Tucson event.
The Ride
Traditionally held annually the Saturday before Thanksgiving, the 38th El Tour htakes place on November 20, 2021. El Tour de Tucson is a fundraising ride that features nearly 6,000 cyclists of all ages and abilities from the United States and worldwide. Participants range from novice to professional as they ride either the 100-, 57-, 28-mile rides. There is also a Fun Ride consisting of 10-, 5- and 1-mile rides.
The Participants
El Tour riders share a desire to ride, meet great people, raise contributions for charities and have fun. Participants enjoy the ride and its festivities out of a passion for cycling, as a benchmark for a wellness program, as a symbol of surviving a major illness or other life challenge or to honor another person.
The Non-Profit Partners
First and foremost, El Tour is charity event. In its 37 years, more than $101 million has been raised through El Tour by over 100 different local and national nonprofit organizations. El Tour surpassed the $100M mark in 2019 after charities combined to raise $5.8 million. Learn about the various nonprofits and sign up to ride on their teams here.
The Route
Main event distances are 100, 57 and 28 miles. The Chapman Automotive Group Fun Ride distances are 10, 5 and 1 miles. Main event routes feature beautiful landscapes of Tucson and Southern Arizona and the crisp, cool air of the Tucson winter. Of course, mountain ranges and the desert’s signature saguaro cactus are highlighted throughout the route. Course profiles range from flat to rolling or moderately hilly. The 28-mile route is mostly flat, which is great for families and ideal for a first-time to beginning. Check out the route details and cue sheets on our website.

The largest bicycle swap in the southwest, GABA's Bike Swap in Tucson attracts over 5,000 attendees and more than 40 vendors bi-annually.

Join Pima County naturalist Jeff Babson for a casual chat about anything and everything nature-related. This is part of a monthly series of online presentations modeled after Ranger talks offered by the National Park Service.
Jeff Babson is the Wildlife Viewing Program Specialist for Pima County Natural Resources, Parks and Recreation, and leads programs focusing on birds, bats, butterflies, moths, dragonflies, and other wildlife. He is thrilled to live in southern Arizona, one of the most biologically diverse places in the United States, and to share his passion for the natural world.

(VIRTUAL) Navajo Weaving Presentation
SALTILLO CONNECTIONS IN NAVAJO WEAVING presented by the Arizona State Museum.
Navajo tapestry weaver Lynda Teller Pete will discuss the connections in Navajo and Zapotec weaving with a focus on styles and designs. She will examine the Rio Grande style which was predominately popular prior to 1900. These designs are created with serrated diamonds, center-dominant motifs, and enclosing borders. By year 1900, Navajo styles and designs were much more in demand and the Rio Grande style faded in popularity among Navajo weavers. Following her presentation, Zapotec weaver Porfirio Gutiérrez will join Pete for the Q & A.

Tour de 4th Kickoff Ride

Cyclovia Remix kicks off a new route this month—our Tour de 4th Avenue.
Join us for a relaxed, family-friendly ride to meet some friends, check out the route and support local businesses. Meet at Keeling Desert Park at 9am for coffee, ride leaves at 9:30.
We’ll make a pit stop at a bike-accessible park for free doughnuts and giveaways— you could win bicycle swag and some big prizes from the City of Tucson Slow Streets Program!
From there, riders can loop back to cruise the Kelso Temporary Slow Street and ride on to BK Tacos for a tasty local lunch.
